Roy EllaPublished Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in the Gurdon TimesRoy H. Ella, 87, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances Elaine Gulledge Ella; one sister, Mary Ellen Andrews of Mountain Home; five grandchildren, Karen Hargett, Kathy Flournoy, Tracey Schuster, Lisa Noble and Chuck Hargett; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded into heaven by his two daughters, Nona Kay Ella Flournoy and Janice A. Alia Hargett; his parents, Charles and Lottie Ella; brothers Jack Ella, Bob Ella, Charles Ella Jr. and Marvin Ella; and sisters, Margaret Ella Mooty and Peggy Ella. He was a long-term employee of Lion Oil Company and a deacon and member of West Side Baptist Church for 60 years. Visitation was Wednesday, June 16, at the funeral home. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at West Side Baptist Church with Revs. Gerald Perry, Mike Eklund, Jerry Wilson and Sam Whitlow officiating. Interment was at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whelen Springs, under the direction of Youngs Funeral Directors of El Dorado.
