Pond Workshop Is Set

Want to get the most from your farm pond? It is no secret that with proper management, farm ponds produce some of the best fishing anywhere.

A farm pond workshop will be held Saturday, April 10, in the 1890 Extension complex auditorium at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Registration opens at 9 a.m. The program begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.

State and regional farm pond experts will provide information on variety of topics, including obtaining fish for stocking, raising trophy bass, Florida bass, liming and fertilization, catfish production and weed control. Dr. Martin Brunson, Extension leader/professor, department of wildlife and fisheries, Mississippi State University, will be the featured speaker.

The $10 registration fee includes a box lunch and workshop materials. Pre-registration is required to receive a lunch. The workshop is co-sponsored by the Aquaculture Fisheries Center of Excellence at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the Cooperative Extension Service, University of Arkansas.
