Voters in Clark County Justice of the Peace districts 9 and 10 will be asked to return to the polls on June 8 to select their representatives.

Both districts had a field of three candidates and both will have run-offs.

According to unofficial election results posted by the Clark County Clerk's Office, incumbent Jim Hatley will face challenger Vickie Smithpeters for the District 9 seat. In District 10, incumbent Frances McGill will try to hold her position against Galen White.

Each district had a field of three candidates, sufficiently splitting the vote to require the run-off. In District 9, Kenneth Harper was eliminated from competition and in District 10, the third contender was Larry White.

The County Clerk's Office will be open for early voting beginning June 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. The office will also be open for early voters on Saturday, June 5, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Anyone who doesn't vote during early voting should go to the Gurdon Municipal Building to cast their vote.
