B.C. Wells

B.C. "Buck" Wells Jr. died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at the age of 72.

Buck was a retired employee of International Paper Company of Gurdon, a veteran of the Korean War as First Lieutenant, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gurdon.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Read Wells of Gurdon; one son Chaplain Col. USAR James "Jack" A. Ryan of Mabelvale, currently serving in Iraq; five daughters, Barbara Ryan Hesse of Arkadelphia, Patti Ryan Wingfield of Camden, Mary Wells Krikorian of Benton, and Sara Wells Crain and Brenda Joiner Wells, both of Arkadelphia; and 13 grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, in Horne Funeral Chapel with interment in Brown Cemetery near Beirne. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Protestant Chaplain Fund, V.A. Hospital, 2200 Fort Root Drive, Little Rock, Ark. 72114.
