Melvin Marlar

J. Melvin Marlar, 60, of Willisville, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at his home.

He was born October 13, 1943, in Nevada County to Hoyle Marlar and by one brother, Mike Marlar and by one wife, Elvira Marlar who died in 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Tittle Marlar of Willisville; one son, Billy Hamilton of Columbus; his mother, Ethel Marlar; two brothers, Sam Marlar of Camden and Jerry Marlar of Rosston; two sisters, Pat Marlar Wheelington of Rosston and Angela Marlar Mosley of Kilgore, Texas; his aunt, Ruby Council of Florida; his uncle, William Twiggs of Florida; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Jerry Evans officiating. Burial followed in the Willisville Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
