I'm sure everyone here in Arkansas is enjoying this nice spring weather.

Shane and Amanda Meador attended church at Shady Grove on Sunday and had lunch with his parents, Sid and Sandy Meador.

Neil and I spent last Wednesday in Texarkana at St. Michael's to be with his sister, Jerri Davis, from Stephens who was undergoing tests. We also visited our son-in-law, Tim.

Ida Haynie has returned from visiting her daughter, Carol McDonald, and her family in Little Rock. While there she attended an engagement party honoring her son, Robert, and his bride-elect, Tanarah Ory, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Bryan Castilaw.

Our grandson, Chris, and Ginger from Dallas and Casey and a friend, Lauren McNeil, from Ol' Miss visited us over the weekend. They also visited their sister and her family, Charity, Randy and Caleb Lowdermilk. Also they visited their mother, Betty and Tim Wilson, in Texarkana.

Darren and Kristi Neal spent the weekend in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Danny, Lisa, Kyle and Caley Pennington visited his parents, Leola and Bill Launeus, in Sparkman on Sunday.

Toby and Kim Cottingham honored their daughter, Shelbi, on her seventh birthday with a skating party in Arkadelphia on Saturday. About 30 friends attended.

This article maybe of interest to those interest in research: Genevieve Vollentine and husband Judge Vollentine of Gonzalas, Texas, visited Pershing and Mary Cox last week. Genevieve is a descendent of Allen B. Lackland, who started a settlement in this area in the 1800s known as Lackland Springs. Mary has assisted her in some genealogy research. The Vollentine's also dropped in on Pete DeWoody at his office to get acquainted with him since he is also a Lackland descendant.

Caley and Kyle Pennington honored their grandparents, George and Joy Cox, by spending Friday night with them.

Friends of Bill Loe will be sorry to hear he is no better and was moved from an El Dorado hospital to Hot Springs.

Deanie Luck from Mt. Pleasant, Texas, is spending a few days with her mother, Frances Bidwell.

This being Easter, I thought this thought taken from an unknown church bulletin was appropriate. "This being Easter Sunday, we will ask Mrs. Swanson to come forward and lay an egg on the alter."
