Oak GroveLula Q. KendrickPublished Wednesday, March 31, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune The annual Sunday school program was held at Bethel A.M.E. Church Sunday, March 28. The theme was 'Lets Talk About Love.' Guest speaker was Sis. Constance Putilla from Dallas, Texas. Missionary Tessie Scott is her daughter. She is a wonderful speaker. She spoke to the young people. There was only a small crowd. Guests were Sis. Ollie Jackson and her husband from Prescott, Sis. Bobbie Yarbrough and her mother, Daisy Nell Ingram, and Bro. Don Yarbrough. Bro. Don spent the entire day. He was at Sunday school. He is a very good very good young church person. Sis. Vera Purifoy was there for morning worship and several from Oak Grove Baptist church Our district conference will be held April 16 and 17 at Waldo. Elder Thomas Adair will be presiding elder of Magnolia District. There will be services at Bethel A.M.E. Church Friday night at 7:00 with Elder Robert McCoy from Prescott preaching. There will be sunrise services at New Salem A.M.E. Church Sunday morning. Rev. Bobby Box will be the speaker. Rev. L. Banks is the pastor. M.C. Toney stopped by to see George and me Sunday. James Charles and family visited his Aunt Girtie B. Sunday from Dansville. Mrs. Minnie Evans went to Houston, Texas, to stay with her daughter, Dorothy Faye, for a while. I talked to her Friday. She is doing fine. Wylie Jackson is on our sick list. She is the wife of Haynie Jackson. She is a very sweet person. Let's pray for her and all the sick people around Rosston.
