John JonesPublished Wednesday, March 31, 2004 in the Nevada County PicayuneJohn Russell Jones, age 77, of Hope died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 in Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas. He was born June 10, 1926 in Hempstead Co., to Elmer and Maude Cannon Jones. He was retired from Klipsch and Associates after 38+ years. He was a deacon and member of New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, Hope and an Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister, Marjie Jones. His survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Wanda Hamilton Jones of Hope; one daughter, Janice Jones Honea and Don of Blevins; one son, John R. Jones, Jr. and Tracy of Mt. Pleasant, TX; one brother, Elmer D. Jones and Elviney of Texarkana, TX; four grandchildren, Lauren Honea of Blevins, Cameron, Bryson and Weston Jones all of Mt. Pleasant, TX. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Buddy McKamie, Rev. Jim Teeter, and Rev. Mike Kessler officiating. Burial in Memory Garden Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Thursday, March 25, 2004 from 6-9 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family will be at home at 164 Hwy 174 North (Experiment Station Road) Hope.
