CaneyRuby WickerPublished Wednesday, March 31, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Linda Sue Howell of Pensacola, Fla., and Nada Cearley of Smackover visited in Caney Monday. They visited a while with Margie Reed and had lunch with their cousin, Wallace McBride, and Retta. Ann Loe, Margie Reed and I went to Magnolia Thursday with a group of Nevada County Extension homemakers. We visited the Imperial Antique Mall and had lunch in their tea room. We had a good crowd at church Sunday despite weather conditions. Bro. Tal Webb's parents, Donald and Margaret Webb, from Prescott were among our visitors. Also visiting Bro. Tal Webb and Krista from Bastrop, La., were Brad and Mia Henderson and daughter, Amelia. They came to our church Sunday and Brad and Bro. Tal sang 'Were You There.' Bro. Tal picks a mean guitar. We were thrilled to have three young people unite with our church Sunday. Justin Marcum, Niki Barham and Tiffany Jarett will be baptized next Sunday morning. Sunday after church, Bro. Tal Webb and his family accompanied Brad and his family as far as Magnolia, where they all had lunch, after which the Henderson's returned to Bastrop. The training and truth program for young people got underway Saturday at Morris Baptist Church. They had a cookout, an early egg hunt and other activities, which included some prizes. Training and truth time will be each Thursday evening at 6:30 and will include Bible study, singing, crafts and other. Any child needing a way to church at that time could contact Bro. Tal Webb, Suzanne Cross or Pat McCullough. Adult Bible study will continue at its regular time. Bro. Junior and Ann Loe visited a while Saturday with their daughter, Safrona Stokes, and Ruth and Milton Stokes in Prescott. Safrona was on her way from Mountain Home to Ft. Worth to visit her son, Russell. Have a nice week and be good to your neighbor. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
