Marjorie Evans

Marjorie Marie Evans, 81, of Willisville, died March 3, 2004, at the Heather Manor Nursing Home in Hope.

She was born to Tom and Rosie Goodwin on July 20, 1922 in Bodcaw.

She was a member of Whites Chapel Baptist Church, a homemaker, an excellent seamstress and a former fabric department manager of Wal-Mart in Magnolia. She married Dall O. Evans October 7, 1939. They were married for more than 64 years.

She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dayle Evans.

Survivors include: husband, Dall O. Evans of Willisville; one son, Jerry Evans and wife Dot of Hope; two daughters, Judy Burns of Stamps and Jana Gibson and husband Wayne of Willisville; two brothers, Garland Goodwin of Willisville and Aubrey Goodwin of Rosston; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Jerry Evans and Bro. Wayne Langston officiating burial followed in Union Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
