Horace Jordan

Mr. Horace L. Jordan, 92, of Prescott, died Sunday, February 22, 2004, at his home.

He was born on August 18, 1911, in Nevada County, to James and Dora I. Fore Jordan.

He was a retired cattle farmer, retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department in Hope, Lonestar Ammunition Plant in Texarkana and the Camden Army Depot. He was a deacon and member of Salem Baptist Church in Nevada County. He was a Mason with Prescott Lodge, a member of V.F.W., and proud to have been an Army Veteran in China in 1936.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janell Allen.

Survivors include: his wife of 68 years, Helen Rhodes Jordan of Prescott; two grandson, Steve Allen of Hope and Doug Allen of Conway; six great-grandchildren, Sarah Allen and Jordan Allen both of Conway, Samantha Allen, Brittney Allen, Casey Allen, and Caitlin Allen all of Hope.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Rev. Louie Wesson officiating and Rev. Ricky Burke assisting. Burial in New Salem Cemetery in Laneburg. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Monday, February 23, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
