A 48-year-old Prescott man has plead guilty to sexual abuse of a minor and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

According to court records, Terry Finigan entered into a plea agreement for 10 years on a single charge of sexual abuse. Records show eight years were suspended and he will have to serve two years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

The incident came to light when the Crimes Against Children Division of the Arkansas State Police received a call concerning two children being sexually abused in Nevada County.

According to records, Finigan allegedly penetrated both children with his fingers. This, records state, occurred at the children's home.

The children were initially taken to Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia for examinations, then sent to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock for further exams. The results, records state, were consistent with sexual abuse in one child, while the other showed no physical signs, an interview with the child was consistent with sexual abuse.

Upon being released, Finigan must register as a sex offender.
