Nominations for Citizen of Year sought

Get ready for a rockin' good time at the annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Banquet.

While a date for the banquet hasn't been confirmed as yet, the theme has been selected. Cool cats will be movin' and groovin' with their best girls to the 50s at this year's event.

However, on a more serious note, it is time for area residents to start making nominations for the Citizen of the Year. For someone to be nominated or make a nomination, they must be a resident of the county. The nominations must also include the reason for the person to be considered, and this must be done in writing. The nominees, can have a business in Prescott or Nevada County if they don't live here.

A selection committee will judge the nominations based on the following criteria: service to  family, city, county, state, national affairs, church related, fraternal, recreational and industrial and education oriented services.

The deadline for nominations to be received is Wednesday, Feb. 20. These should be sent to:
