Vera ToddPublished Wednesday, January 28, 2004 in the Gurdon TimesVera Mae Tucker Todd, 93, of Gurdon died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia. She was born July 3, 1910, in Elmore City, Okla., the daughter of the late James S. and Eula Pyle Tucker. She was a retired inspector for Hollywood Vassarette and the oldest member of Richwoods Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford "Sank" Todd; two daughters, Patsy Fendley and Linda Todd; two sisters, Audie Armstrong and Almarie Callaway; and one grandson, Howard "Butch" Fiemster. Survivors include: two sons, Nicky and Charles Todd, both of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Veda Owens of Arkadelphia; one brother, James S. "Pete" Tucker of Arkadelphia; three sisters, Leota Atkins of Arkadelphia, Frances Callaway of Curtis and Edith Dixon of Bismarck; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Rev. Kevin Stilley officiating. Burial was in Richwoods Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Richwoods Cemetery Fund, c/o Nicky Todd, 170 Mt. Zion Road, Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923. Visitation was from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
