Rachel Hays

Mrs. Rachel Mullins Hays, 81, of Hope, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, at Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.

She was born April 6, 1922, in Hempstead County to Roy B. and Martha Atkinson Franks.

She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church of Hope and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with Medical Park Hospital, Hope.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ruel Mullins.

Her survivors include: one son, Kenny Mullins and Judy of Hope; one daughter, Sue Mullins Cornelius and Jim of Prescott; her husband, Lee Hays of Hope; one brother, Patrick McLaughlin, Virginia Beach, VA.; two sisters, Jean Brents of Sherwood and Eva Jane Robertson of Midwest City, OKLA.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Wade Hood and Rev. Glen Troop officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Family received friends Friday, January 16, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.
