Joyce SteedPublished Wednesday, January 7, 2004 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Joyce Steed, age 72, of Prescott, died Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Medical Park Hospital in Hope. She was born October 20, 1931, in Hickory Grove Community of Nevada County, to Onice Erman and Edith Norvell Meadors May. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Prescott. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Ray Steed and Michael Louis Steed; and by one grandson, Jeremy Steed Williams. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Louis Ray Steed of Prescott; four daughters, Brenda Kay Hatch of Lake Villa, IL, Barbara Ann Campbell, Doris Kathryn Crigsby, and Jana Elizabeth Steed all of Shreveport, LA; one sister, Helen Jones of Texas City, TX; and five grandchildren. Funeral services are 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott, with Rev. Neal Ridling officiating. Burial to follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Family received friends Monday, January 5, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
