Nita DeatonPublished Wednesday, December 17, 2003 in the Gurdon TimesNita Jean Deaton, 76, of Gurdon, formerly of Arkadelphia, died Thursday, December 11, 2003, at her home. She was born March 7, 1927, in Clark County, the daughter of the late Jimmy and Dezzie Deaton Tucker. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband Olin Deaton. Survivors are one son, Garry Deaton of Gurdon; one grandson, Scott Deaton of Gurdon; one granddaughter, Chrystal Deaton of Palm Dale, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Heather and Logan; and one sister, Loree (Rita) Strough of Jupiter, Fla. Graveside services were Monday, December 15, at 2 p.m., at Richwoods Cemetery with Bro. Sonny Tucker officiating. Family hours were 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
