Mrs. Shirley Wilson Crews, 67, of Hope, died Friday, December 5, 2003, in Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Tex.

She was born October 25, 1936, in Gurdon, to Joseph Henry and Sarah Mabel Ryan Wilson.

She was a retired registered dietician. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hope. She was the past president and former secretary of the Hempstead County Republican Women's Committee and also past secretary of the State Republican Women's Committee.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Ryan "Bucky" Wilson and Cecil Wilson, and by one sister, Aline Wilson Kuykendall.

Her survivors include: her husband of 49 years, Richard "Dick" Crews of Hope; two sons, Robert "Bob" Crews and Kevin Dewayne Crews both of Hope; four daughters, Carolyn Schobey of Lake of the Pines, Tex., Lynda Kay Adams of Sioux City, Iowa, Sandra Downs of Hope and Sara Crews of Texarkana, Tex.; two brothers, Billy Joe Wilson of Little Rock and Bobby Wayne Wilson of Nashville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2003, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Austin Missey officiating. Burial followed in Hart's Chapel Cemetery in Curtis. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Family received friends Sunday, December 7, 2003, from 2-5 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.
