Evelyn Georgia Jones Crowe died Sunday, November 16 2003.

She was born April 29, 1908, to Samuel Arthur and Barbara Celia Burton Jones in Ferriday, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Crowe and son, Colonel Charles Arthur Crowe.

She is survived by one daughter; Celia Roe and husband, Joseph L. Roe of Dallas, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Joan Miller Crowe of Carlisle, Penn.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She lived in Gurdon until the death of her husband. Thereafter she moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas where she was the much loved housemother of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity for 18 years. She was an avid hunter and fisherwoman and skilled with a crossbow, having won top honors at an international crossbow tournament in Canada in 1975. She was an artist and outdoorswoman, never happier than when she spent time at her cabin on the Ouachita River at "Boiling Pot".

She lived the last five years in Dallas at Signature Pointe Retirement Center, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Funeral services were Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Rose Hedge Cemetery.
