Neil Meeks

Mr. Neil Meeks, 85, of Prescott, died Thursday, October 30, 2003 at his home.

He was born May 29, 1918, in Chidester to Luther W. and Leona Rogers Meeks.

He was a welder for Meeks and Daniels Welding. He was a deacon and member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Prescott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Griffin Meeks, who died July 12, 2003; by his son, Larry Meeks; by three brothers, Doyle, Dorman and Roger Meeks; and by one sister, Jerri Davis.

His survivors include: three grandchildren, Chris Meeks of Dallas, Texas, Charity Lowdermilk of Prescott, and Casey Meeks of Brandon, Miss.; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jordan Lowdermilk of Prescott; one brother, Dwight Meeks of Camden; and one sister, Amanda Gray of Bryant.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2003, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Prescott, with Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Saturday, November 1, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish.
