Our little community was saddened on Thursday by the death of Henry Dixon. He was killed by a log truck as he was going home from Rosston. Everyone who knew him, loved him. Bro. Petie and Bro. Charles Lloyd did a good job with the service and Jeff and Tara Carlton rendered the beautiful songs. He was buried in Rosston Cemetery. Many thanks to all the ladies who prepared food and I especially thank Brenda Jenson, Marlena Capps and Jana Gibson for helping me serve at the church on Saturday before the funeral. We fed about 65 family members. Please remember Dorothy in your prayers. She was back in church Sunday, playing the piano. I know she did the right thing even, though it must have been hard. She and Henry were two of our most faithful members.

We had so many guests in church Sunday. I won't try to name them. I would surely miss someone. We appreciate your presence and welcome you back.

Roscoe and I, Bro. Petie, Laura and boys, J.D. and Pankie Luck and Herman and Floy Waters were with Dorothy when Henry passed away. He was air lifted to St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana.

Powell Cross passed away this past week, too. His funeral was at Laneburg on Monday last week. The pastor officiated and Jeff and Tara Carlton were in charge of the special music. Please remember this family when you pray.

Claudie White had surgery on Thursday for four by-passes at St. Michael. Bro. Petie was with them during the surgery. Roscoe and I visited with them on Monday afternoon and again on Thursday afternoon. He is in room 440 North. He has had a few problems since surgery, but was better Sunday morning. LeVergne is thankful for friends that sat with her as they have no children. Claudie had a cousin, Jimmy White of McCaskill, Jim and Darlene Caswell of Houston, Herman and Floy Waters of Dallas, Ralp and Belinda McKinnon of Prescott and friends there in Texarkana and others came to be with her. Friends are sometimes appreciated as much as family.

Paul and Dot Broussard left for Florida on Thursday to see a new great grand baby.

Mike and Mary Smith and Ruth Vinson left Friday for a weekend on the lake.

Sue Dixon went to Hot Springs on Thursday to see her doctor . She got a pretty good report.

Bro. Petie and Laura took Jarrod to the doctor in Arkadelphia on Tuesday and Laura had an orthodontist appointment on Wednesday. I think Jarrod was about to get his days and nights mixed up.

A.B. and Maxine Luck were called home from the lake when Henry Dixon passed away.

The youth of Rosston are having a hot dog and ice cream supper after church next Sunday night with a volleyball game to follow. The seniors are invited.

Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

Roscoe and I helped celebrate our daughter-in-law's (Marion) birthday, on Monday at Luby's in Texarkana with son, Dwight, and two of Marion's daughters and their families.

Bill Freeman of Prescott spent a couple of days in Wadley Hospital this week. He got to come home Saturday and is feeling better. We planed to visit him Monday.

Part of our family had supper with Jim and Booie Williams last Sunday night. They took Tori and Kathryn Rocole to Hot Springs on Monday on an outing. A day just for Kathryn.
