Lafayette Beaty, Jr.

Mr. Lafayette Beaty, Jr., 74, of Texarkana, Ark., formerly of Prescott, died Friday, October 24, 2003, at his home.

He was born June 23, 1929, in Nevada County, to Lafayette, Sr. and Eva Blevins Beaty.

He was a retired correctional officer from F.C.I. in Texarkana. He was a member of Beech Street Baptist Church in Texarkana. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and former Sgt. First Class of 153rd Infantry of the Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Evelyn Jennings.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Beaty of Tyler, Texas; one daughter, Cindy Beaty of Tyler, Texas; one brother, Frank Beaty of Prescott and a number of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Bob Ward and Rev. Neal Ridling officiating. Burial was in Missionary Grove (Nubbin Hill) Cemetery in Nubbin Hill Community in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Tuesday, October 28, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at the Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home.
