Forest Festival Saturday

As dawn awakes next Saturday morning, the streets of Gurdon will already have vendors set up ready to spend a day at the Annual Gurdon Forest Festival.

Each year the festival has grown and luckily has attracted several local talents to set up booths to show what they can do.

Also, local talent performs on the band stand set up on Main Street, throughout the day.

No matter what visitors are looking for, they are sure to find something to interest them at the festival.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and will have several local pageant winners, politicians, groups and organizations represented in it. Shortly afterwards, the festival will officially begin as the streets fill with people who have come to look at the booths, ride the rides, play the logging games, participate in the auction, enter the Halloween costume contest, listen to the live music, sign up for drawings, look at the antique cars, participate in the Annual Eric Griffin Memorial Run, eat the funnel cakes and other delicious food or just fellowship with friends and family.

Throughout the years, the festival has grown. Sometimes the attendance is affected by the weather, but the extended forecast is looking good.

Don't forget the Annual Gurdon Forest Festival Saturday, Oct. 25. Always the last Saturday in October.
