Scott SmythPublished Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. B. Scott Smyth, 48, of Rosston, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at his home. He was born March 7, 1955, in Hope to Joe Byron and Jean Elmore Smyth. He was a self-employed contractor with the U.S. Government and operated his own business, One American Professional Services, Inc. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rosston. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and an Army and Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one niece, Jessica Smyth. His survivors include: one son, Wesley Byron Smyth of Longview, Texas; two brothers, Mark Allen Smyth, Leesville, La. and Greg Smyth and Cheryl of Rosston; two sisters, Denissa Jo Smyth of Texarkana, Texas and Teresa Lee Smyth Fontenot of Ragley, La.; 10 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and great-nephews, and several other relatives. Funeral services were 2 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Rosston, with Rev. Mark Faulkner officiating. Burial followed in Rosston Cemetery in Rosston. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Family received friends Friday, October 10, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice, Nevada County, 102 East 16th, Hope, AR 71801; or First Baptist Church, Rosston, Ark. 71858; or American Cancer Society.
