James HastingsPublished Wednesday, October 1, 2003 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. James Harvey Hastings, 83, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, September 26, 2003, at Wadley Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 25, 1919, in Laneburg to John and Liddie McCollugh Hastings. He was a former truck driver with Day and Zimmerman. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Laneburg. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include: his wife, Bonnie Campbell Hastings of Texarkana, Texas; one son, Claude Randell Hastings of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter, Wanda Nell Herron of Lumpkin, Ga.; one brother, John Hastings of Prescott; two sisters, Lucille Wicker of Prescott and Sue Nelson of Gurdon; two grandchildren, Priscilla Johnson of Texarkana, Texas and Crystal Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2003, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. Don Brazzel and Rev. Glen Cannon officiating. Burial in Harmony Cemetery in Sutton. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Saturday, September 27, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
