Mary Spires

Mrs. Mary Estelle Burkett Spires, 90, of Prescott, died Thursday, September 25, 2003, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott.

She was born September 7, 1913, in Caney, to Robert Wayne and Nora Velma Carter Burkett.

She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Prescott.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Albert H. Cummings, Sr. and George Leo Spires; one brother and two sisters.

Her survivors include: two sons, Albert Howard Cummings of Prescott and Robert Garland Cummings of Houston, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2003, at Central Baptist Church in Prescott, with Rev. Chad Brandon and Rev. Jeremy Franklin officiating. Burial followed at Caney Cemetery in Caney. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Friday, September 26, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
