The Nevada County Library announces three periods of activities for preschoolers, ages 3- 6.

Parents and other childcare providers are invited to all call the library at 887-5846 to register. The theme of the activities will be 'On the Farm.'

On April 14, the children will take part in some great farm stories and songs.

On April 21, dogs will be the subject of the stories, poems, songs and puppet crafts.

The third activity period will be on May 5, with stories, songs and rhymes about our feather friends, including a 'feathering' craft.

All patrons should be aware that the Nevada County Library will be closed on May 6 and 7. The staff will be at the Pike County Library for computer training.

The Nevada Library, as a part of the Southwest Regional Library System, is working with the Gates Library Foundation to bring computers and the Internet to all of its patrons.

Members of the Nevada County Library board are excited about the possibility of this area having a new facility. They have expressed their gratitude to the efforts of Sen. Mike Ross, Rep. Sandra Rodgers and Rep. Percy Malone, as well as those of County Judge James Roy Brown, Mayor Howard Taylor, friends of the library and the other community leaders.
