RedlandHazel MeeksPublished Wednesday, September 15, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Still no rain in our community. When I heard on the news a cold front was on the way, I began looking for my electric blanket. Bill and Leola Lanius from Sparkman visited their son, Danny, Lisa, Kyle and Caley Pennington on Sunday and attended the baptism of their granddaughter, Caley, on Sunday night. Darren and Kristi Neal honored their little daughter, Emilee, on her first birthday with a party at their home on Sunday evening. Robert Haynie, son of Ida Haynie and the late Bobby Haynie, has recently been named terminal manager in the office of Central Transport in Little Rock. Patsy and Sam Rowe from Texas have spent several days with her mother, Thais McLelland. Neil and I attended the 65th wedding anniversary party for Bro. Johnny Carlton and his wife, Pearl, at Union Baptist Church on Saturday. Carolyn Purtle and little granddaughter, Ashton, from Hope visited her nephew, Brad Barham, and his family on Saturday. They also said hello to Neil and me. Carol Haynie McDonald, daughter of Ida Haynie and the late Bobby Haynie, has accepted a position with Rainy Realty in Little Rock. Cathy Straley from Dallas has recently visited her parents, Pershing and Mary Cox. This is off the record, but Mary was celebrating a fairly high scoring birthday. Friends of Mack Andrews will be sorry to know he is a patient in St. Michael's Hospital. Peggy and Bud Roedel from Jonesboro visited her son, Darren, Kristi, and Emilee Neal on Sunday. I sure don't have any good news to report on our friend and neighbor Glendean Haynie. Seems her condition is getting worse. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
