Elsie MoenchPublished Wednesday, September 10, 2003 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Elsie Faye Moench, 95, of Bodcaw (formerly of Hope and Michigan), died Saturday, August 30, 2003, at her home. She was born September 14, 1907, in Jenoa, Nebraska, to John David and Jenny Strum Ceder. She was a homemaker and former cafeteria cook for Beecher High School in Flint, Michigan for 25 plus years. She was a member of Hope Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry August Moench, who died in 1971, and by two daughters, Aletha Gilbert and Dephene Dowdy. Her survivors include: two sons, Donald Moench of Texarkana, Tex. and James Moench of Millington Mich.; one daughter, Norma Jean Palmer of Bodcaw; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at Sharps Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, Swartz Creek, Michigan, with Rev. Paul Alger officiating. Burial followed in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris, Michigan. Arrangements by Sharps Funeral Home, Swartz Creek, Michigan and local arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
