Annie CulpPublished Wednesday, August 6, 2003 in the Gurdon TimesMrs. Annie B. Culp, 91, of Burleson, Texas, and formerly of Gurdon, departed this life on Sunday, July 27, 2003, at a Fort Worth hospital. Mrs. Culp was born July 27, 1912, in Hope, to Roland Ware and Carrie Bayless. She graduated from Gurdon High School and later received her Registered Nursing Degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Hot Spring. During her career, she worked at the hospital for four years. Previous to her move to Burleson, Texas, she was a long time member of the First United Methodist, Gurdon. At the time of her death, She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Burleson, Texas. Mrs. Culp was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Culp and her son, Roland Culp. Survivors include her son, John T. Culp and wife, Janice of Houston, Texas; daughter in-law, Martha Culp of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, John A. Culp and wife, Roxie of Little Rock; Wayne Culp and wife Pam of Burleson, Texas; David Culp and wife Nancy, Stuttgart; Carrie Harper and husband Jene, Houston, Texas; John T. Culp, Jr. and wife Meg of Houston, Texas; Jim Culp of Dallas, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Jay Harper, Georgia Harper, Caroline Harper, John Culp, Benjamin Culp, Haley Culp, Rachel Culp and Greg Culp. Funeral service were held Tuesday, July 29, at the First United Methodist Church of Gurdon. Arrangements under the direction of Horne Funeral Home, Gurdon.
