Orless Williamson

Orless Williamson, was born Feb. 17, 1938. On July 13, 2003, he departed this life on earth in his home in Idabel, Okla.

Two brothers preceded him in death, Arthur Williamson of Germany and Every Williamson, Jr. of Sacramento, Calif. Four sisters also preceded him in death, Ruby Cheatham of Hope, Pearl Miller and Queen Ester Smith both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ethel McTouch of Kansas City, Kan. One grandson, Quinton Alfonzo Johnson of Kansas City, Mo. also preceded him in death.

Orless Williamson was the eighth child of Rev. Every and Ollie Williamson, who also preceded him in death.

Orless united with the Antioch Baptist Church, Emmet, at an early age. When he left Arkansas, he was very active in the churches he united with. He loved to sing and was a devoted praying deacon. He especially enjoyed singing in the church choir and with the Arkansas Travelers of Faith.

He was a member of the Elizabeth Lodge No. 193 and served faithfully until his health began failing.

Orless met Annette Marshall and they were united in holy matrimony on December 12, 1967. To this union, three children were born.

Orless leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Annette Williamson; two daughters, Valeria Johnson, Kansas City, Mo., and Patricia Newsonee of Fresno, Calif; and six sons, Anthony D. Williamson of Conway, Gunnery Sgt. Andre' Williamson of San Diego, Calif., Arless D. Williamson of Hope, Shannon Williamson and James Williamson, both of Fresno, Calif.

Also surviving him are three sisters and one brother-in-law, Wilma J. Sowell, and Clara and the Rev. Frank McClenton, all of Kansas City, Mo., and Evelyn Wright of Fresno, Calif; and five brothers, and four sisters-in-law, Booker T. Williamson of Hope, Roger and Shirley Williamson of Kansas City, Mo., George and Sarah Williamson of Florissant, Mo., Robert and Isabelle Williamson of Bristol, Pa., and the Rev. Johnny and Birdie Williamson of Kansas City, Mo.

Orless is also survived by 21 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were noon, Saturday, July 19, at Antioch Baptist Church in Emmet. The Rev. J.L. Radford officiated.

Family visitation was from 3-6 p.m. Friday, July 18 at Nunley's Funeral Home in Idabel.
