Hazel Meeks

Mrs. Hazel Virginia "Lulu" Griffin Meeks, 81, of Prescott, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at her home.

She was born July 1, 1922 in Prescott to Jesse Jiner and Larue Myrtle Taylor Griffin.

She was employed with the former Gibsons of Prescott and currently a correspondent for the Redland News in the Nevada County Picayune. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church of Prescott and pianist for the Burke Quartet of Prescott.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Meeks who died in 1992.

her survivors include: her husband, Neil Meeks of Prescott; three grandchildren, Chris Meeks of Dallas, Texas; Charity Lowdermilk of Prescott and Casey Meeks of Brandon, Miss.; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jordan Lowdermilk.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Prescott with Rev. Larry Buyers, Rev. Mike Taylor and Dr. Cecil Sutley officiating. Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Monday, July 14, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home.
