Rufus MauldinPublished Wednesday, July 16, 2003 in the Gurdon TimesRufus Willie Mauldin, 80, of Fordyce, died Monday, July 7, 2003, in Fordyce. Mr. Mauldin was born January 7, 1923, in Nashville, to Leon and Jimmie Lou Malcomb Mauldin. He was raised in Prescott. On August 26, 1944, he married Anne Dickerson in Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by three sons, Charlie Ray Mauldin, Jasper Rufus Mauldin, Clifton Allen Mauldin; daughter, Barbara Gail Mauldin; granddaughter, Angela Sue Mauldin; three grandsons, Kenneth Eric and Travis Lee Johnson, Jasper Hamaker. He is survived by his wife, Anne of the home; five sons, Willie Mauldin of Sheridan, Tony Mauldin of Little Rock, Troy Mauldin of Dierks, Gene Mauldin of Fordyce, Jerry Don Mauldin of Grapevine; four daughters, Carolyn Cornett and Rita McKee, both of Fordyce, Marcia Johnson of Pine Bluff, Vickie Cox of Fordyce; 30 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline McKinnon of Prescott. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 9, at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan with Rev. Al Michael officiating. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery near Gurdon.
