Charles JeanesPublished Wednesday, June 11, 2003 in the Nevada County PicayuneCharles Harvey Jeanes, 86, of Hope, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, in Prescott Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Jeanes was born August 16, 1916, in Nevada County to Rich W. and Mattie P. Cothran Jeanes. He was a retired master carpenter of Brown and Root Construction Company and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard, Jewell, Thaddeus Buck' and Dewey; and two sisters, Edna and Virgie. Survivors include his wife, Jean Golden Jeanes of Hope; five daughters, Bobbie Looney and husband, A.C, of Bossier City, La., Leveta Hodges and husband, Bob, of Alice, Texas, Paula Williamson and husband, Glynn, of Hooks, Texas, Patricia Green and Crystal Wilson both of Houston, Texas; four step-sons, Larry G. Brown and wife, Sherry, of Hope, Lonnie Ray Brown of Hope, Dennis Brown and wife, Paula, of Mena and Terry Brown and wife, Nancy, of Friendship; one step-daughter, Judy C. Harris of Emmet and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Saturday, June 7 at Evening Shade Cemetery in Hope with Mr. Harley Sisson officiating.
