Nevada has five seniors graduating with honors

Nevada High School has named the following students as Honor Graduates: Kristi Taylor, Joseph Hood, Sharona Young, Ashley Hall and Eric Williams.

Taylor is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Taylor of Rosston. She has accepted an academic scholarship to University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. She has been active in Future Business Leaders of America, FFA, FCA, Art Club, Teen Leaders and Project Pals. Taylor has been enrolled in the Accelerated Plan of Study, completing high school in three years.

Joseph Hood is the son of Ms. Sherry Dillard of Rosston. Hood will attend the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope on an academic scholarship. He is president of the National Honor Society, FBLA member, four year starter on the Blue Jay Baseball Team, Senior of Distinction and Mr. NHS.

Sharona Young is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Young of Rosston. She has accepted a technical scholarship in Business Technology at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. Her activities include, Drug-Free Team, Upward Bound, manager, Sr. Girls Basketball Team, Who's Who Among America's High School students, Ms. NHS, National Honor Roll and Senior of Distinction.

Ashley Hall is the daughter of Mr. Marvin Hall and Mrs. Rhonda Saunders of Rosston. Hall will attend Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. She is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Drug-Free Team, FFA, Beta Club, cheerleader, Homecoming Queen and Senior of Distinction.

Eric Williams is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Don Williams of Bodcaw. Williams has accepted an academic scholarship from Southern Arkansas University. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Drug-Free Team, FFA, Band and was named Senior of Distinction.

Graduation exercises for the 2003 Nevada High School seniors will be Thursday, May 15 at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium, with State Rep. Chris Thomason delivering the commencement address.
