Gurdon selects four to attend Boys State

Leonard Gills, principal of Gurdon High School, has named the four young men selected to attend Boys State.

Jeff Gibson is the 17 year-old son of Louis and Tanya Gibson.

He is a member of the National Beta Club, the Gurdon baseball team and is currently number eight in his class.

Luke Leamons is the 17 year-old son of Mike and Linda Leamons.

He is currently ranked fifth in his class with a cumulative grade point average of 3.6. Leamons is a member of the National Beta Club and CHAMPS. He is an officer in the Gurdon chapter of the National FFA organization. Leamons is a member of the Prescott Church of Christ.

Michael Testa is the 17 year-old son of Tony and Connie Testa.

He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gurdon. He is a two-year starter for the Gurdon Go-Devil football team. He was a member of FFA for two years, and is also a member of the CHAMPS program. Testa attended the Close-Up program in Washington, D.C., where he learned about the nation's government.

Jonathan Gonzales is the 17 year-old son of Pato and Velvet Gonzales.

He is an active member of Hot Church in Gurdon and participates in the CHAMPS program. Gonzales attended the Close-Up program in Washington, D.C., recently and learned about the national government.
