J.E. Dillard

Mr. J E Dillard, 69, of Bluff Springs, died Tuesday, April1, 2003, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born August 29, 1933, in Nevada County, to Louie and Ozelle Miller Dillard.

He was a retired transport superintendent with S.M.I. (formerly know as Tex-Ark Joist Co.). He was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Skip and Donnie Dillard.

His survivors include his wife of 39 years, Dottie Dillard of Bluff Springs; two daughters, Pamela J. Dougan of Texarkana and Patricia "Trish" Messer of Rosston; his mother, Ozelle Dillard of Prescott; one brother, Travis Dillard of Bodcaw; two sisters, Margaret Rhodes and Cedailla Burke both of Bluff Springs; three grandchildren, Jeremy J. Dougan, Lea Janae Dougan, and Trenton Ray Messer.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Bluff Springs with Rev. Donnie Dillard and Rev. David Dillard officiating. Burial in Bluff Springs Cemetery in Bluff Springs. Arrangements under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Family received friends Thursday, April 3, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
