ARRESTS MADE

Published Wednesday, April 7, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune

Arguments between a boyfriend and girlfriend resulted in the arrest of two others Wednesday, March 31.

Sorrells said the NCSO was notified about a 1990 Jeep Cherokee having been stolen from Dallas, Texas, and given the name of the suspect.

Prescott Police Officer Ann Jordan, along with Sheriff Steve Otwell and deputy Danny Martin went to the local residence where the vehicle was known to be.

Jordan contacted Christy Haynie, who had the Jeep and a title to it. The Jeep was taken to the NCSO, but two males with Haynie were told they could come to the sheriff's office, but couldn't ride in the Jeep.

As they got out, officers noticed them began acting suspiciously and conducted a search of their persons.

The end result was both were found to be in possession of a misdemeanor amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tobias Tidwell and Roderick Walker were placed under arrest and charged with simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both later bonded out.

Haynie was not charged in this matter.

The Jeep is currently being held at the NCSO until proper ownership can be sorted out. Haynie and Ken Walden, of Dallas, both claim to own the vehicle.

She claims she bought the Jeep from Walden, while his version is Haynie stole it from him.
