Harrel EverittPublished Wednesday, March 26, 2003 in the Gurdon TimesHarrel Thomas Everitt, 86, of Gurdon, died Saturday, March 15, 2003. Mr. Everitt was a supervisor for International Paper, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gurdon, International Order of Hoo-Hoo, and a dedicated volunteer for the CADC Senior Adult Center in Gurdon. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Everitt of Gurdon; one son, Thomas Everitt of Searcy; two step-sons, Tom McGlone of Flemington, N.J., and Bill McGlone of Gurdon; four daughters, Dorothy Shurtleff of Prescott, Charlotte Montgomery of Crossett, Janice Jenkins of Crossett, and Brenda Atkins of Texarkana; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Launius Everitt; and by his grandchildren, Walter Harrel Onel Shurtleff, and Ashton Virginia Floyd. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18, at the Horne Chapel with Rev. Rusty Jones officiating. Burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Sparkman, by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.
