Tarpley to speak at Chamber BanquetBY AUTUMN PENNINGTONPublished Saturday, March 29, 2003 in the Gurdon Times Gurdon resident Billy Tarpley will be the featured speaker at the annual Gurdon Chamber of Commerce Banquet. The banquet has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, at the Gurdon High School cafetorium. Gurdon's Chamber had been gearing up for it's annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet, but after originally scheduling the event for Feb. 25, the date had to be changed. This is because of the ice storm that hit the area the night the banquet was scheduled. Chamber members had spent months planning the banquet, getting all the details together and finalizing plans. Anita Cabe, banquet chairman, recently announced the annual banquet had been reschedule for Tuesday, April 1 due to the cancellation of it's original date. The banquet is to be held at the school cafetorium starting at 7 p.m. Billy Tarpley is scheduled to speak at the event. Tarpley is a long time resident of Gurdon is sure to have an interesting speech for the event. Tickets are $15 each and are available at First State Bank of Gurdon, US Bank in Gurdon, the Cabe Office and the Arkadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
