February was as wet as January was dry.

According to Prescott weatherman Phillip McAdams, the 0.26 inches of rain received in January was followed 9.2 inches in February.

Davis Benton, Cale meteorologist said February was one of the wettest on record, as 10.4 inches fell during the shortest month of the year.

The precipitation falling was mostly rain, except for the freezing rain and sleet that fell on Feb. 9, 24-25, according to McAdams.

Benton said the south part of the county received two inches of white stuff on Feb. 25.

The thermometer also had trouble making up its mind. McAdams said the high for the month was 71 on Feb. 4, with the low being 22 degrees on Feb 8.

For the Cale area, according to Benton, the low was 24 degrees on Feb. 8, with the high reaching 62 degrees.

The average high for the month was 51 degrees, with the average daily low being 33 degrees.

However, McAdams said, the temperature varied throughout the month. On Feb. 4, it went from a high of 71 to a low of 29, giving it a 42 degree shift.

The smallest change occurred on Feb. 27, when the high reached 31 and the low fell to 28 degrees.
