Meth lab found in bedroom of houseBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, March 12, 2003 in the Nevada County Picayune A rental agreement turned into a drug bust, when officers found a methamphetamine lab in the bedroom of a house. According to court records, officers with the Arkansas State Police, the South Central Drug Task Force and Nevada County Sheriff's Office went to the residence of Todd Taylor in reference to a possible meth lab. When the officers arrived, they talked with Jared Brown and a juvenile female who were there. Brown said he had been at the house a few days, but it belonged to Taylor. At the time, Taylor was at work. Lt. Cleve Barfield, with the ASP, and Nevada County Sheriff Steve Otwell went to Taylor's place of business and asked him to return to his home. While on the way, records state, the officers learned of a landlord/tenant agreement between Taylor and Adam Wicker. Wicker reportedly rented a bedroom in the house. Brown told officers Wicker had a drug lab in the bedroom. Officers obtained a search warrant and entered the room in question. They found jars of bi-layer liquids and other items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine. While the officers were on the scene, Wicker, who had been in the tree line across the road, came to the house and surrendered. Wicker and Taylor allegedly admitted to being meth users. The two were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.
