Joey WaddlePublished Wednesday, March 5, 2003 in the Nevada County PicayuneJoey R. Waddle, 47, of Star City, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born December 2, 1955, in Prescott to Jodie and Maye Robertson Waddle. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1973, then from Red River Vocational Technical School in Hope. He was a certified CPR Instructor Trainer and Instructor, and a Certified Methodist Lay Speaker. He was a Judge for the Secondary Association of Phi Beta Lambda. He served as Song Leader in various churches since the age of 12, and he was the former Choir Director at Wesley United Methodist Church. He worked as the Director Office Manager for the Arkansas Highway Department, and was an avid comic book collector. Survivors include his wife, Julia M. Waddle of Star City; son, Jordan Waddle of Star City; daughter, Kate Waddle of Star City; parents, Jodie and Maye Waddle of Prescott; two sisters, Judy and Rick Hart of Mineral Springs, and Penny and Rickey Talley of Magnolia; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City, and at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Moriah Church in Nevada County near Rosston. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Louann Murphy and David Ashcraft officiated in Star City, and Jerry Westmoreland officiated at Mt. Moriah. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Autistic Association, 501 Wood Lane, Suite 210 Annex, Little Rock, AR 72201, or to the American Heart Association.
