Horace Wesson

Horace Raymond Wesson, 78, of Prescott, died Tuesday, February 18, 2003.

During his lifetime he worked as a farmer, and a welder, but most of all he enjoyed building. He was owner and operator of H.R. Wesson Welding and Construction Company. He was an avid golfer. He was loved by friends and family and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynton and Lenna Wesson; his brothers, Earl, John, and Jim Wesson.

He is survived by his wife, Chris Wesson; his five daughters, Dr. Terri Crook and husband John Crook of Little Rock, Kris Souter and husband Dr. Ray Souter of Athens, Ga., Karen Wesson of Little Rock, Betty Peterson and husband Dr. Mark Peterson of North Little Rock, and Sandra Wesson of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Will, Lena, Kelly, Taylor, and Jordan; brother, Joe Wesson and wife Georgeanna of Prescott; sister, Betty Denny of Ada, Okla.; stepchildren, Kay, Robert, Ronnie and Danny.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Foundation.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20, at the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Paul Zelnick and his nurse, Sindy Smith, for their tireless care and compassion during his illness.
