Plans underway for banquet, no speaker schedule as yetBY AUTUMN PENNINGTONPublished Wednesday, February 12, 2003 in the Gurdon Times Gurdon's Chamber of Commerce is working on plans for this year's Chamber of Commerce Banquet. Last year's banquet was a huge success with guest speaker, First Lady of Arkansas Janet Huckabee. It is not yet been decided as to who this year's guest speaker will be however, it is sure to be a good one. The banquet is scheduled for February 25 at 7 p.m. at the Gurdon High School cafetorium. Tickets are $15 a piece and will be on sale starting this week at both US Bank and First State Bank. They may also be purchase at the Cabe Land office or the Arkadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will also be available at the door. Deadlines for citizen of the year and teacher of the year is set for Wednesday, February 19. Suggestions should be written in letter form and sent to the Gurdon Chamber of Commerce P.O. Box 187 Gurdon, Ark. 71743. The Chamber members will meet on February 20 to decide on the winners.
