Fred ArnoldPublished Wednesday, January 22, 2003 in the Gurdon TimesFred Otis Arnold, 81, of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at Baptist Health Medical Center of Arkadelphia. Mr. Arnold was born May 29, 1921, in the Shiloh Community near Arkadelphia, son of the late Charlie and Cona Mae Goza Bettis Arnold. He was a retired employee of Reynolds Metals Co. and a deacon and Sunday school superintendent at Shiloh Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lorene Holder Arnold; a son, Mike Arnold of Bismarck; a daughter, Sherry Harder of Hereford, Texas; six granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 11, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freeling Clower and Rev. Marvin Pate officiating. Burial was in Arnold Cemetery in the Shiloh Community. Pallbearers were Jack McCallum, Pee Wee Ham, Bill Morgan, Glen Elkins, Carlton McKinnon, Danny Golden, Donald Shope, and Charles Todd.
