Loyal Evans

SMSGT Loyal P. Evans USAF (Ret), 75, peacefully departed this life on December 31, 2002, following a battle with cancer.

He was born August 23, 1927, in Bodcaw. He served 27 years in the Air Force and retired in 1974 making San Antonio his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyal P. Evans and Harlie Evans; loving wife, Elda G. Evans; son, Loyal P. Evans, III; and sister, Nell Crider.

He is survived by his best friend and companion, Claudia Ayers; son, Gary A. Evans; daughter, Angela Evans Klaus and loving son-in-law, Kendall Klaus; grandchildren, Krystal Evans, Hope Evans, Cole Evans, Sara Klaus and Samantha Klaus; great-grandchildren, Christian Capps, Mikayla Capps and Keegan Klaus-Ryan; brother, Dail Evans of Arkansas and his wife Margle; brother, Alvin "Buddy" Evans of Houston and wife Mary; sister, Jean Colburn of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Loyal Evans was a loving and caring man who touched many individuals. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Heartland Hospice.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2003, at the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment followed at Mission Burial Park South. Arrangements with Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.
