Nellie McSweenyPublished Wednesday, January 8, 2003 in the Nevada County PicayuneNellie Mae Otwell McSweeny, 70, of Prescott, died Sunday, December 29, 2002, at her home. She was born September 5, 1932, in Nevada County to Penny and Etta Mae Sampson Otwell. She was a retired nurse, homemaker and mother. She was a member of Prescott Church of Christ and the Prescott VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.R. "Pot" McSweeny, who died March 11, 2002. Her survivors include: two sons, Mark R. McSweeny of Colleyville, Texas and Brad E. McSweeny and Jennifer of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Rhonda G. Morton and Mike of Prescott; four sisters, Beatrice Dougan of Prescott, Minnie Gauthreaux of Harryhan, La., Edith Garner of Camden and Betty Falcon of Metarie, La., and five grandchildren. Funeral services were 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2002, at Prescott Church of Christ, with Mr. Howard Horton officiating. Burial followed in Snell Cemetery in Emmet.
