Oran Taylor

Mr. Oran Warry Taylor, 63, of Jackson, Tenn. (formerly of Gurdon and Prescott), died Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn.

He was born August 8, 1939, in Gurdon, to Oran Franklin and Lula Roberson Taylor.

He was a retired meat cutter with Taylor Brothers, and electrician, and formerly in maintenance at Firestone in Prescott.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gurdon, and an Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Jerroll L. Taylor.

Survivors include: his wife of 37 years, Gloria Horne Taylor of Jackson, Tenn.; one son, Oran L. Taylor and Vickie of Camden; one daughter, Warrie Jones and David of Jackson, Tenn.; two brothers, Frank Taylor of Magnolia and Lano Taylor of El Dorado; three sisters, Anne Mechi of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Letina Greene of Griffin, Georgia, and Phyllis Doerr of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Hollie Stiffler and Garrett Hughes of Jackson, Tenn. and Oran T. Taylor of Camden.

Funeral services were 11 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2002, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
