We are enjoying the cooler weather and we got an inch of rain Sunday night.

The annual House-Cagle family reunion and also the Rachel Brown family will meet Sunday, September 19, at the VFW in Prescott. There will be potluck lunch at the noon hour. Friends and relatives are invited.

Joe Wren had a bout with some cows last week. Luckily he wasn't seriously hurt. He had some surgery on his face, a few stitches on his head and some bruises. Glad it wasn't worse, Joe.

Kim Hughes of Winnfield, La., visited her dad, Joe Wren, Sunday, as well as her mother, Kay Wren, and other relatives.

Mary and Everett Orren and Billy House visited Thomas White Saturday. Thomas isn't well. Everett took him to Little Rock one day last week for treatment.

Syble Brown had surgery on her broken shoulder Wednesday. She spent several days in St. Michael Hospital, but was able to be home.

Mary Ann Lucas visited Eva Jones in Hillcrest Rehab Friday and she visited Syble Brown Sunday.

Mary and Everett Orren visited Fate House of Powderly, Texas, Monday.

Agatha Cowart of Idabel, Okla., spent the weekend with her mother, Annie Mae Hooks. They spent Sunday with Gary and Gaywin Golden, Gigi, Grant and Gini, celebrating Grandparents Day.

Theresa and Jewel Grifford visited J.D. and Mary Ann Lucas during the week.

A thought: Even if you're on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.
